Therefore, Alianza Punta Cancun’s members expressly commits to complying with the specific commitments contained in the document indicated below as “Decalogue”, and thus contributing to the strengthening of scientific and educational events organized and sponsored by the bio-pharmaceutical and medical device industry, as well as to the self-regulation system of CETIFARMA.

DECALOGUE ADHERENCE TO THE PRINCIPLES OF INTEGRITY OF THE PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR

GENERAL

    1. Educational or scientific events and all related activities should be organized and directed towards healthcare professionals and institutions related to this sector. They should be held in an appropriate venue that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and/or scientific information, with the technology that ensures these objectives are achieved. In every event, compliance with legal and ethical principles governing the interaction of the Bio-pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industry with healthcare professionals and institutions must be ensured.
    2. The company or organization that applies to receive a certificate of
compliance with the Codes will be willing to sign an addendum to the contract that functions as a framework for ethics and transparency, referencing the deontological principles of CIETEMIS and the Guidelines for International Health Congresses of IPCAA.

VENUE AND HOST CITY

    1. The host destination should have suitable facilities to host the event, preferably within close proximity to the venue.
    2. The venue should have an appropriate space for the commercial exhibition, with convenient access to and from the main areas designated for the event within the venue.
    3. The food and beverage services offered during the event should be adequate and modest, contributing to the main objective of the meeting.

PROGRAM

    1. The selected destinations and/or venues will collaborate with the event organizers to maintain the attention of the attendees on the academic program of the event, avoiding the distribution of recreational information in the welcome kits. The Organizing Committee must ensure that educational or scientific activities will comprise at least 80% of the scheduled time, so that recreational activities will not prevail over scientific ones.

ACCOMMODATION

    1. When preparing a candidacy, the proposed hotel offer of the destination will include accommodation for the majority of its attendees. Once the congress is confirmed, contracts will be formulated that comply with the legal and ethical deontological provisions to the organizers to guarantee the availability and rates contemplated in the proposal; thus reflecting the best possible rate for the event.

HOSPITALITY

    1. Sponsorship for companions or any other person unrelated to the
organization of the event will not be considered; support related to
accommodation, food, ground transportation, and essential per diems for the organizing committee may be included.

SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

    1. It will contemplate processes and actions in the field of sustainability and support for the local community within the framework of the event and with voluntary participation, with the ultimate aim of promoting and caring for health.

EVALUATION AND FOLLOW-UP

  1. It is recommended that CETIFARMA holds at least one meeting per year with the meetings industry and/or its representatives to maintain an appropriate level of communication and updating. A survey will be conducted before the end of the event to evaluate compliance with the rules described in this document.

The company or organization that complies with the proposed rules will receive, after evaluation, a certificate from CETIFARMA that demonstrates respect and compliance with the ethical-deontological principles derived from CIETEMIS in events for the Bio-pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industry.
